Kelly Attends 22nd Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation
Ms. Kelly attended Elton John’s 22nd Annual AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party tonight in West Hollywood. We have begun uploading photos from the event. Keep checking back for more.
In honor of Throwback Thursday we are bringing back Remember When?
Remember when Kelly was ready to release her sophomore album in 2006? Before renaming the album Ms. Kelly and releasing ‘Like This’ as the lead single, Kelly spawned ‘Gotsta Go’ from the then-named album My Story. On May 27, 2006 Kelly debut the song with a live performance at the MTV Japan VMA’s. Although never officially released as a single, the song appears as a bonus track on Ms. Kelly as ‘Gotsta Go (Part 1)’ featuring Da Brat. Check out the performance below.
Check out the 103 HQ photos from the performance but clicking on the thumbnails.
Also listen to the studio version after the jump. Read more
In Kelly’s ‘downtime’ I will be adding photos from older events and shoots to the gallery. Today I’ve uploaded rare photos from Kelly’s promo shoot with Georges Antoni for her 2012 album Talk A Good Game. Click on the thumbnails below to view.
Last night Darey held Love: Like A Movie 2 in Africa. After things were settles with her sound, Kelly blazed the stage with hits like: ‘When Love Takes Over,’ ‘Like This,’ and a DC Medley. I have added photos from the show to the gallery.
Keep checking back for more updates on pictures and videos!
Kelly Rowland is busy. The 33-year-old Destiny’s Child alum is planning her upcoming wedding to fiancé Tim Witherspoon, working on her next album, and with it, hoping to “shake things up” in the music industry.
HuffPost Entertainment spoke to the singer this week at New York City’s 24-Hour Fitness gym in the Manhattan neighborhood of SoHo, where she was promoting Zumba’s latest fitness program, Zumba Step. The Grammy-winning singer discussed her fourth solo studio album, “Take a Good Game,” the final season of “X-Factor,” the future of her beloved girl band with Beyonce and Michelle Williams, and all of her big plans.
“Talk a Good Game” has been called a celebration of womanhood. Do you consider yourself a feminist?
I am a feminist! I believe women are the most incredible creatures on earth. I think men are truly from a different planet because our planet is the shit. It’s just all our own and we’re just amazing creatures. God knew exactly what he was doing.
One of the songs that really stood out to me on the album was “Dirty Laundry” because it is so raw and puts you in such a vulnerable position. Did you have any hesitations about releasing it?
Of course. A song so personal like “Dirty Laundry,” you always feel a little bit apprehensive about releasing because it is so personal. I think that when you release something so personal you also don’t want people to misunderstand your story. That happened a little bit but I really didn’t care because people will talk anyway. I heard a very wise woman say, “Whenever people stop talking, that’s when you worry.” It was my truth, I can’t speak on anybody else’s truth, but it was my own.
File this under cool memories to keep: This past week I got the chance to test out a brand-new Zumba workout—Zumba Step, which combines Zumba’s dance energy with aerobic step exercises—with the one-and-only Kelly Rowland. (She did the workout in HEELS.) And on her birthday, no less! I caught up with the engaged star beforehand to chat about her fitness routine for her upcoming nuptials and more. Listen in!
Are you doing any special fitness routines to get wedding-dress-ready? Kelly: As a matter of fact I am, but it’s more so just changing up my workout like I’ve always done. Jeanette Jenkins always says, “I believe in shocking the body!” So we do different types of workouts—from weights to dancing to running our mouth sometimes. [Laughs] We have a good time! She changes it up on me: sprinting, boxing one day, cardio, sculpt…
What’s your favorite type of workout? Kelly: I really, really love to move. You know what I mean? I mean, it’s not a workout, but I absolutely love to do it, and that’s performing, which is very close to doing Zumba. When you’re onstage and you’re moving everything, every single part of your body, it’s actually working and active to the tips of your fingers. You’re burning a hell of a lot of calories. And I think that’s what people always look forward to—they want to know how many calories they’ve burned, and it’s really important to actually know that and know your nutrition even more. I think people will slip on nutrition and think that you can eat whatever you want and then work out. But the two go hand in hand, so I think it’s really important to know what you’re putting into your body and give it nourishment.
Late last year, Joe and Kelly shot the video to Love & Sex pt. 2 with Billie Woodruff. The single is the first from Joe’s new album Bridges, which is slated for a July 2014 release! The song also impacts radio in a few weeks!
In her interview on The View, Kelly stated that she wanted to eat for her birthday! Looks like her sisters Beyoncé & Solange along with Angie Beyince fulfilled her dream for her 33rd birthday celebration.
Guests dined on chicken, filet mignon, tempura, and crab ravioli in a variety of dipping sauces including teriyaki, creole mustard, and coconut curry.
Thanks to everyone who participated in Kelly’s Birthday Project! Kelly did see the tumblr herself and thanked the fans for all of the messages, videos and tweets that were sent out!
I have also added several photos of Kelly in New York yesterday to the gallery as well!
